APLCC Meeting Reminder for January 26, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick reminder that the next APL Camera Club meeting will be held on Thursday January 26 between 7-9pm in the Lebovic Room of the Aurora Public Library.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE

Don't forget to submit an image to the Monthly Challenge gallery before the meeting on the 26th.  The challenge for this meeting is "Calm Simplicity" which, as I mentioned in a previous newsletter, is a fairly broad topic so there are lots of options in terms of the kind of images that you can submit.  Basically, though, the idea is to convey a sense of calmness and keep the number of elements in your images to a minimum.  In other words, keep things simple and dont clutter your images with too much stuff. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

THANK YOU

Lastly I'd like to thank all the people who showed up to the meeting on the 5th of January.  I would like to send a special Shout Out to Rick Armstrong for bringing his cappuccino machine and goodies.  It was really appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 26th of January.

APL Camera Club Meeting -- January 5, 2017

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you've all had a wonderful holiday season and a great beginning to 2017.

This is just a quick reminder that there will be an APL Camera Club meeting on January 5th, 2017, between 7-9pm in the Lebovic Room of the Aurora Public Library. This is to make up for the meeting that we lost in December due to the holidays.

Since this is still a very busy time for people and since we'll be having a second meeting on January 26, I'm going to make this meeting more of a leisurely get-together than a formal meeting.  It'll give us a chance to connect in a less formal way.  Each person can bring their own coffee but I will bring cookies and stuff for us to snack on.

Please send me a quick email to let me know if you plan to attend on January 5th.

All the best,

Ronen

APL Camera Club Meeting -- November 24, 2016

Hi Everyone,

The next meeting of the APL Camera Club will be November 24, 2016.

This is going to be a special meeting as I've arranged for Bruce Carmody, an amazing nature and wildlife photographer as well as a storyteller, to speak to the group.  Click here to see a sampling of his photos.

Given the time and work that Bruce is putting into his presentation, I'm asking people to send me an RSVP at reelstories@rogers.com to confirm their attendance.  I want to ensure that we’ll have a decent-sized audience for him.

Meeting Reminder October 27, 2016

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time, but the first meeting of the 2016/2017 season is quickly approaching.  It will be held on October 27, between 7-9 pm in the Lebovic Room of the Aurora Public Library.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE

The monthly challenge for the first meeting will be a simple one:  Your favourite photo taken in summer/fall 2016.  Please be prepared to explain why it's your favourite and what techniques and strategies you used to achieve the image.  If there were any hurdles you needed to overcome to make the image possible please be ready to tell us a bit about this as well.

The Monthly Challenge Photo Gallery is setup and ready to receive your photos.  Please upload ASAP as there are only eight days before the meeting.

APL CAMERA CLUB MEMBERSHIP

It may be that some of you who are receiving this newsletter are no longer interested in participating in the APL Camera Club.  If this is the case, please send me a quick email and I will remove your name from the list and delete your online account.  I am trying to edit the list down to active members only.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on October 27.  If you have any questions or concerns please email me at reelstories@rogers.com

Best,

Ronen
